I hear old school pros used to handle it with a nice raw lump of steak in the gooch. Nicely tenderised for a post ride snack too.
If money and the potential wastage is an issue, then I think Rapha may do the classics guarantee on their classic bibs. Order a pair and you have 30 days to return them for a full refund, no questions asked. Should give you time to see if better bibs is the answer. If it is, then keep the Rapha or return them and start searching for a cheaper, but effective alternative (I think the top DHB have the same Cytech 3 pad as the Rapha).
