I would have thought 54 square would be fine for someone your height, unless perhaps you're all torso or legs. I would say I'm around the same height as yourself and my 54 pre cursa is much too small. With any luck at all I'll be in receipt of a 58 Gazzetta soon-ish so I'll see how that goes. It will probably be slightly too big for me going by the book but I'm confident I'll be able to make it work comfortably.
I think there's a culture of splitting hairs when it comes to frame sizing, a hypochondria of sorts that frame dimensions have to be spot on to the millimeter. A whole lot of faffing about with perfectionism and not enough making adjustments and getting on with things(not saying that that is the case here, just a thought). Unless you're getting something custom, which is a different story. Perhaps I'm just younger and slightly more malleable and will go on to eat my words.
