  • In a kind of semi-order...

    Fuck Buttons - Slow Focus
    Daniel Avery - Drone Logic
    Jon Hopkins - Immunity
Pantha du Prince & Bell Laboratory - Elements of Light
    Forest Swords - Engravings
    Woodkid - The Golden Age
    Foals - Holy Fire
Boards of Canada - Tomorrow's Harvest
    Rhye - Woman

  • QOTSA, and Daft Punk

  • It's only little but I'd like you all to know about Mathew Sawyer's Sleep Dreamt A Brother. It's fricking lovely and definitely my album of the year.

  • Just did no feel this one. Not effortless enough. Whatever the fuck that means.

I know what you mean - a couple of stunning moments outweighed the rest

  • Pantha du Prince & Bell Laboratory - Elements of Light

That was this year? Yes, that's on the list too.

Amazing live - the gig of the year for me (actually the gig if my life so far.)

Yeah, it only just slithered into this year - think it came out in January.

Definitely gig of the year, and definitely in my top 3 ever.

  • Yeah, it only just slithered into this year - think it came out in January.

Definitely gig of the year, and definitely in my top 3 ever.

I managed to see them twice - first playing Elements of Light in Barcelona and then their rendition of In C at the Barbican - both phenomenal.

I'll have to eject something from my top ten so that can go in.

  • For me, the standout albums of 2013 have been these with those starred being my favourites:

    ...
    Bill Callahan - Dream River
    ...

    ^. This. +1. Etc.

  • Pure Love - Anthems

  • I have to disagree on BoC. I found it sounded like a compilation of all the boring bits of their other records, it lacked the depth, warmth and emotion of their other stuff IMO.

  • Wow, just listened to Boards of Canada. Really bad. You people need to listen to some Slayer quickly or forever be lost.

  • I've just checked my iTunes library and the only albums from 2013 I got were the Daft Punk one and Nataly Dawn's How I Knew Her
    So those two then.

  • Wow, just listened to Boards of Canada. Really bad. You people need to listen to some Slayer quickly or forever be lost.

Ahh, the days I used to wake up to Angel of death followed swiftly by some Nile - winds of Horus. Good days.
Boards of Canada is a different kinda headphase.

  • Machinedrum Vapor City is sounding good.

  • Machinedrum. Lone. OM Unit. Good stuff this year

Compilation wise the Drexciya Journey of the deep sea dweller series

Others in no order would be:

Unknown Mortal Orchesta - Unkown Mortal Orchestra
    Arcade Fire - Reflektor
    A$AP Rocky - LONG.LIVE.A$AP
    Washed Out - Paracosm
    Disclosure - Settle
