Other projects include my Pompetamine. This one's been going over two years now and it's still my main go to steed.

Latest incarnation has got a Kenisis DC37 fork to replace the Kona P2s, finally made the jump from fixed to single speed, allowing me to run a Hollowtech 2 chainset and fitted some reflectives to help keep me out of trouble on the commute to work. Got some white decals for the down tube coming soon.
Tyres are temporary. I've been asked to test em for work so started with some off road detours on my commute, just for a bit of fun.
Next for this one is some new mudguards. Well not so much new but a hybrid of some old Zefal clip ons and the SKS Blumels I was running last winter. Hopefully offering better protection from the elements than the clip ons but easier get on and off than the Blumels.

What did you lay the slabs on?
Dry sand and cement mix 4:1. About 25-50mm deep. 29 bags in all and all hand mixed in a bucket with a trowel!

Shed has arrived
Bare shell at the moment. Battens, insulation, floor boards and plasterboard all arrive tomorrow. Also got to build a work stand into the framework of the shed and cut a hole through to the ground anchor, fitted to one of the slabs below.

Got some pics of the Pompetamine in daylight. Still not great (my phone doesn't seem to like the conditions) but you can see the whole bike now. Hopefully when I've chopped the excess seatpost I've been carrying all this time, I should be under 10kg.

Looking good.
If you're looking for a decent tyres for road and path, the Schwable CX Comp feel smooth on the road with ample grip off road.

Cheers ed, I might check em out.

Still slow progress with the new workshop.
First job was to cut through the floor and find the ground anchor I’d fitted before the shed went in.

Then battened the floor, insulated between the battens and laid the floor boards.
Floor finish will be anti fatigue matting but that won’t go in till the plasterboard is on the walls and the work bench and work stand are fitted.

#porn groundanchor!
I had a DH bike stolen from my 2ft thick stone walled shed years and years back, was locked with a decent motorbike lock to a ground anchor hilti-bolted into the concrete, then additional 3mm steel straps laid over the anchor to a further 6 hilti bolts.
Yeah, they still got it, must have spent hours in there chiselling away at the concrete until they got it up. Also attached to the motorbike chain was a crap town bike and a lawnmower, so they must have made quite the scene trying to get away with that lot all chained together.

Bloody hell! I hope, with that level of security, your insurance company paid up!
I'm hoping the fact that I'm in the middle of a long terrace, where the only access is through the houses, will save the ground anchor ever being tested. I'll also have a minimum of three bikes chained together at all times and failing that, everything's listed on the house insurance. I'm more worried about my tools tbh. Trying to figure out what to do with them at the moment.

I wish I had this level of home improvement panache. DIY gets the girls wet.

Progress has been a bit slow over Christmas/New Year but things are moving again now. Fitted the framework that will support the work benches and work stand and started to get some plasterboard on the walls.
With hindsight I should have fitted a batten to screw the bottom of the boards to as the insulation's causing them to bulge a bit but hey, it's a workshop, I'll live with it.

Workshop's still moving along slowly. All the Plasterboard's up now, lights, sockets and extractor fan have all been fitted and wired up since this photo was taken and I've got a sparky coming tomorrow to connect up to the house.

Pompetamine's been back in off road mode for the weekend. Forgotten how much fun it is getting out there and getting muddy.
-

About to buy one to get muddy. Is that the Pompetamine fork? If so did you use center-lock or 6-bolt disc at the front?
Cheers

Nah, it's a Kona P2. I've got Kinesis DC37 too, if you look a bit further up the page but the lacquer/finish was really poor so they're off for a respray.

Skirting board.
Seem to have a never ending supply of projects on the go so thought I'd start a thread to cover em all. Hopefully this latest one will help give life to plenty more.
12' x 8' shed is due to be delivered on Tuesday. Then got another three days off work to batten everything out, insulate it and line with ply/plasterboard and if I'm lucky fit the wall mountd work stand.
