What's going on here? Sounds like a bag of spanners as the chain joins and leaves the ring.

I have exactly the same problem. No amount of chain adjustment seems to work. Lubing it weekly seems to work a bit, but aside from that I'm completely stuck. I want to replace the chain (maybe stretch, but measuring it says otherwise) but what if it's actually the chain ring that's worn out.
It seems the chain isn't wide enough: it doesn't engage properly until it reaches one or two o'clock on the ring and doesn't disengage until about seven o'clock (much like chain suck).

Similarly, it is tight on the sprocket.

Everything is brand new and all 1/8"; the chain is a Connex 1Z1 "...for all hub gears with wider cogs and singlespeed".

Anyone else using one? Do they have a coating which needs to be worn off?
