Mike Sinyard started as surf-dude distro for Cinelli in California then decided to be Nike of cycling. So much so he had Nike's ex-creative director as a marketing consultant, the guy who created the jumpman logo for Michael Jordan. And that's where the S comes from.
Short version, never trust a hippy.
