Touch up is alright and keep it as original as possible, there's plenty of over restored classic stuff so I hope you don't go down that route. That said it's your bike, you can do whatever you want for it but in it's current state, it shows signs of use and hopefully would be used in the future so why give it a fresh lick of paint? Paint looks pretty good.
Do you know who made the forks? You could probably source the internals and replace it.
