  • Shimano chains are shit. I've snapped 3 chains, all Shimano, none SRAM. Win to SRAM.

  • £445 at probikekit using the code SAS15UK plus quidco cashback.

Code doesn't work, so not such a bargain.

  • ^ worked when I tested it. I don't do the quidco thing but it was still showing as £458.99.

  • Note to self - when entering discount codes, get them right. Muppet.

    Yep, wank

  • Installation error, the chains are fine

  • I kinda agree. But theyscould make the installation less sensitive. Broke my XTR chain after 3km.

  • If Hope made and 11spd freehub body I'd be buying that 11spd shimano group set.

  • Was told dt swiss makes those as well

  • Nope do the Mono RS hub which is now 11 speed James.

  • I don't want to buy a whole hub and rebuild a wheel. Am lazy and cheap, and want to put 11spd onto the evo2 disc hub.

  • I've had the hub changed in the wheel for the Oak without said wheel ever having been used, which feels both rather sad and rather profligate.

  • What wheel and hub is it?

  • Farsports 24x50mm clincher, CX rays, Novatec hub- whatever the latest greatest 11 speed disc hub is.

  • Mix and match 10 speed chorus levers with full 10 speed veloce drivetrain, yes or no?

  • 105 or Ultegra/600 (if you prefer vintage)

  • 105.

  • Ask him to buy the Claris shifter then.

  • Why would anyone buy 105 when Ultegra 6800 exists?

  • ^^

  • Perfect for a club ride.

  • Why would anyone buy 105 when Ultegra 6800 exists?

becaus 6800 crankset be a fugly spazzed out flying chipmunk on crack

  • Why would anyone buy 105 when Ultegra 6800 exists?

Well it is still a fair bit cheaper.

The thing that would put me off for the moment is that it hasn't been updated has it? So next year it probably will be, and it will be seen as the "old" version if you're interested in being able to sell it.

    SPAM:
Also as it's the run up to xmas, does anyone want a 6700 chainset in 170mm for £70?

  • 105 5700 is barely £100 cheaper than 6800, I'd go Ultegra all the way. Though if you were currently running 8/9/10-speed Shimano wheels you'd be looking at a wheel (or at least hub) upgrade to take 11sp.

  • What about a mix-match approach of 105 and Tiagra?
