It's pretty tricky to fire someone in the UK lawfully, no?
If your performance was a bit off simply firing you is curious. Did they try any remedial action, any warnings, signs of failure in appraisals etc?
On the other hand, if you had destroyed the company's source code and all back-ups of their product then they might have a case.
