Endured many xmases with a family that hated each other, not in love with the work thing either - secret Santa and fun jumpers are being forced upon us too.
If you hate xmas, I recommend opting out and doing Crisis. Worthwhile, occasionally challenging work with people who range from the delighted and grateful to surly and psychotic (often the same person depending on meds). No presents, commercialism, relatives or bullshit. It's become the most fun week of the year, although last year I had an apple for Xmas Dinner due to delivering a guy with serious DTs to a dependency unit and by the time I got back all the food was gone.
