please remove that ugly rendering.
what groupset is on your bike?
give it matching (black) tyres and bartape and a nicer seat.
look in vintage benotto catalogues online for inspiration. -

Too nice to mess up. Keep geared, an easy project.Or sell to me, it's my size.

It's a replica of a racing bike from the 80's. I can't find the original photo but it's spot on, dron.
I don't know the model.

It's already single-speed I'm afraid. Probably will change it all back one I've given everything a good polish.

I considered selling it but I love the frame too much so I plan on giving it another makeover like this...
I might go with black/gold instead. How could I make a concept like the one above in black/gold?
Recommendations on cheap wheels would be appreciated.
Please whatever you do, do not ruin it by turning it into that gold and white monstrosity.
In terms of wheels what are on there at the moment? If you want a single speed and the hub has a screw-on freewheel then you can probably just keep the current wheelset. You may have to re-dish.
If you want new ones then then you need to check the rear spacing. I would go for the KinLin's ADHN on hubjub on system x/similar hubs with ACI spokes from cycle basket, then have a go at building them yourself or pay Arup on here to build them. That will give you a solid reasonably priced, but sympathetic wheelset.

Thanks Hugo. I've switched to single speed already, didn't have to re-dish. I'm due to switch back once I've given all the metal bits a good polish. I still like that gold monstrosity but with this feedback I have 2nd thoughts. Maybe black/gold! I'd just like a change.
I'm always cautious of buckling the old Mavic wheels (have bent one already). Definitely want some bull-bars or straights, not comfortable down on the drops. Do you recommend any? Have you ridden both?
Edit: I only cycle around the city so I'm aiming for comfort and robustness.

nice frame, nice to see a benotto. i want one.you seem to have dutch national colours there, why not continue the theme. im sure loads have done just blue and white on these.
i reckon blue outer cabling would look good and the grooves in the seat post after its polished could be aternating blue and orange.
Hi all, I'm new here and I'm obsessed with my bike!
I bought this from a friend at the start of the year. What do yous think?
