derp!
I agree, that's a nice bike :)

Slightly too high for me, was watching it.
The frame is a more basic A.S. Gilliott it would have been a restore project for me...as frame is OK but the modern parts would needed to have been swapped over..

Hi all,
Total newbie here (sorry if I'm breaking any rules!) Saw this on eBay, was thinking of putting in an offer, maybe £600, for my BF for Christmas.
I've heard you guys are the harshest critics around, so I was wondering what you guys think?
Thanks in advance!

I think £700 what the guy is asking is a bit steep...as Gran Sport isn't worth as much as for example Super Record. £600 is more like it. It can be done for less...but...
Only if you are willing to hunt on ebay.it and local pages you may get something nice for £500 or even less if you don't mind looking for badly listed items...but that takes much more time of course.
Try retrobike too and of course lfgss ads for fair priced lovely bikes. But if it must be that one, £600 or below :)

Thanks for that! So you reckon if I get £600 or under thats ok? Might go in at £500 or 550 and see what happens. There's a "Make Offer" option so may as well have a go!

my advice would be to send him a message.
tell him you're rubbish at negotiating, so ask him for the absolute lowest price he can do.
Low offers get rejected more often if you haven't spoken to him yet.

Or offer £500 and include a message saying why you are interested in buying it and how much he would be willing to let it go for

I have not much evidence of this, but I would definitely agree

Might go in at £500
way too much, no more than 350 for me. Wait, something will come up on here
-
• #49436
I wouldn't dream of paying that much for it, but then again I don't understand the significance of champion mondial frames and why everyone loves them.
I'm not qualified to offer any opinion but would like to hear why some say £500, others no more than £350??

£500 is way too much.
just the fact that BLB seatpost and saddle are present means the value is instantly lower. Kind of like if an army of elephants shit all over it.

Would say 400 max for the Gazelle. I bought one very similar for a friend a few months ago on here for £300.
The frame was in much better condition and although it had Shimano parts they were a lot newer and the seller included 2 new chain rings.
I would search gazelle on here, find some one who is selling gazelles on the forum regularly, contact them over private message and there's a very good chance you'll get something sweet for 3 or 4 hundred. I would not pay over 4 though...

Same as above^
I bought one fairly similar on here for £250, although that was a couple of years ago but it had a mix of dura ace and record parts. There's been a fairly good supply of Gazelles from Holland on here so might be worth waiting. Or look on martkplaats (dutch ebay) and see if anyone is willing to post.

Can't believe I didn't bid on this and get someone from retrobike to collect for me.
Another example of someone losing money because they can't be arsed to pack up a bike.

About twice the price of what they should be though, they're just regular Record hubs.

You had a bargain there, seriously tempted but a bit small for me.
