Mine was £30 from B&Q, normally £40. Had a £18 credit note from returning some door locks months ago so I figured it was a good spend.

I've had a 'Champion' badged version (240v) for about 10 years - no problems so far.

I have heard of it, a very expensive solution to those clip-on mudguard, it stop your arse getting wet... that's it.
-
• #834
Fiddly and annoying. Just get a normal one.

Most clip-on mudguards are ugly with big clamps and clips. This looks pretty clean and minimal if it works well.

They look a lot better than big ugly clamps.

Example of how it work, as you can see it's designed perfectly to ensure that the brake will be covered with dirt;
BikeSmart Tangent SL Fender - YouTube
Might need to turn on HD to clearly see the droplets.

So it keeps your arse dry and doesn't look clumsy or lumpy unlike race blades?
But some water spray ends up hitting your rear caliper (assuming you have one) next you'll be telling me that this means the dirt in the water will turn your rear caliper to alloy dust in 5 miles Ed. Or that your brake pads will fill with grit, eat your rim, and you'll suffer catastrophic rear wheel collapse with total wipeout...
;)

Nah, just saying the water end up getting shot at your legs rather than arse.

But when moving forward most of this would probably be getting blown back, shirley?

Guards that extend below axle height and reach far anough round the shoulder fo the tyres are great for keeping feet drier and unfrozen.

Are there any black hammered fenders available anywhere?

Powdercoat is the only option.

Or have them anodized?

Just fitted some Narrow (35mm) SKS Chromoplastic Mudguards to my Bareknuckle.
Took a little customizing of the front bracket, which meant drilling and filing the hole so it was longer, allowing the guard to sit closer to the fork crown.
Other than that, no problems at all.
Running 23c tires but not sure I could squeeze anything bigger under them.
They have a nice extra long flap on the front to help prevent wet feet and a rear reflector.Sensible bike is sensible!
^ Check the top of this page; you can use a dremel tool to carve out the edges a bit if the fender is too wide for your fork or stays.
