The Raleigh track frame is amazingly still straight - it is one of 17 originally made none of which were sold to the general public – its rarer than a Cinelli Laser – and extremely special – its exactly what Reg Harris used to win the world champs and was used by a handful of other world class riders back then with world champ wins. I would not expect it to be bought by somebody wanting to use it on the street… When will you find another for sale? I do not know of any others sold in the last ten years, several are still in the Raleigh collection either at Brooklands or in the Nottingham Industrial museum. That leaves very few out there… A Raleigh track frame of this period is one of the holy grails of track bikes. The top tube dents are part of its history. And if someone wanted a perfect frame a new top tube could easily be fitted though in my opinion I think it would detract rather rather add…

Only 17 made, pretty rare indeed and the fact that Raleigh keeps quite a few of them and the others are in museums is quite a testament to these frame and I agree with hilary on not replacing the top tube.

I love classic cars and bikes, aint got either YET but there is a shift on preserving barns finds and classics/vintage in the condition they were found and not restoring them, keeps the history intact.
