  • So it's that time again: Nine am Oxford Circus for a ride around London's famous London at it's quietest. This ride is for those who have no family or are able by dint of massive prevarications to briefly escape theirs...Who's in? I'll muddle along if wanted...

  • I really want to make this. Might be having christmas in London so could skip out in the morning.

  • It'll probably take quite a bit of convinving, but I'll do my best to join this ride.
I'm very unreasonably excited about it.

  • Greetings to one and all,

Just a bit of info for anyone who has not sampled this ride. It is truly AWESOME....

Even if you can only come along for 5 mins it is worth it just to see Oxford Circus completely deserted....

It is not just for those who don't do Christmas for whatever reason. It's a great way to build up an apetite for the festive culinary onslaught...

Make any excuses if needed now and try and come along...

Well done Digger for sorting this!!!!!

Peace and Love to one and all,
    Tim

  • Ah, London on Christmas day... so deserted it feels like the zombie apocalypse must have struck. Not sure what my plans are yet. If around will add my name.

  • Ooooooooooooh deserted city sounds VERY appealing. Probs not here though :(

  • IN! And I am completely avoiding all the family stuff this year so no driving duties.

Apparently the 11 pipers piping refers to the 11 faithful apostles. Of course Judah let the side down... Jesus (according to my interpretation...) was also Judah (from the tribe thereof) . So it is about man letting himself down - a common theme in the Bible.
    Here endeth the lesson.

  • sounds good.

  • It's still only bloody November.

  • I can't make it this year, as I'm working (joys of a hotel...) But the bonus of that is the café I work in will be open, so I thought I'd pass that on, in case anyone fancies a tasty coffee post-ride. (Bulldog Edition, in the Ace Hotel on Shoreditch High St)
(Not intended as an advert, just thought it might be nice to see some friendly faces!)

  • A tasty beer post-ride would be welcome too...

Will see what the weather is like. I'd like to come and bring our baby on the co-pilot.

What time will you be open from, mrs_socks?

  • Think we'll be open 10-3. We have beer too. Just saying!
