I've been living in Oslo for 2 years now and have been searching all over the city for good coffee. I feel that in general the quality is quite changeable, you might get a delicious coffee from a chain like Waynes and some over extracted swill from a 'barista' in another place. I think this is because the norwegian palate is very used to bitter coffee from drip machines and espresso based drinks are still quite new to them.

Best coffee in town hands down, also quite reasonable prices. Never fails to serve up a good cup but not a place you sit and chat with your friends. There is only three seats there so have your drink at the bar and leave or get it to go.
Javelin
Good coffee with a nice atmosphere, usually staffed by the owner and his daughter.Rooster
Oslo's first coffee bar, now closed due to renovations hoping to reopen soon. Good coffee with friendly staff.
Liebling
Ok for coffee, good atmosphere but a lil bit hip.Fuglen
Ok coffee, feels like a berlin cafe.Stockfleths
Chain with slightly expensive but usually ok sometimes good coffee.**
Mocca
Expensive, awkward atmosphere with bad coffee-AVOID! -

We are so fucking lucky in London. Is there anywhere else in the world with such a spread of cafés making quality, exciting, speciality coffee, with an app telling you where it all is, including what grinders they're using?! Possibly Melbourne, almost NY, but London coffee is just fucking great.

And Melbourne doesn't get people asking for 'extra hot' coffees. Euro freaks.

"Too hot to hold please"

Then they get a cardboard sheath for it.

Best coffee I've had was in Melbourne, imo they beat London for quality. there are big names like Proud Mary that won't fail to provide something great (like the Brazil late harvest COE I had earlier in the year), but there are also some smaller places that are putting out fantastic coffee without the massive cues. Overall the price is pretty low, and a big difference with London is most of the specialty coffee stores/roasteries also serve decent food too.
Now I'm living in Amsterdam, my favourites would be:
Espressofabriek (Westergasfabriek/Ijburg)
Coffeebru (Oosterpark)
Headfirst (Vondelpark)
twoforjoy (Harlemmerbuurt)Next spot I'll try is Scandinavian Embassy, which I've heard good things about, and supposedly has an Aussie inspired emphasis on food too.

Try Lot 61(kinkerstraat) and Sweet cup(just near leidseplein) too, both roast in house and have a super passionate crew working behind them (mostly of the aussie and kiwi variety).
Two for Joy also has a location in Frederiksplein at the end of Utrechtsestraat
I miss melbourne coffee.

There's also a fantastic coffee shop called Mrs. Atha's in Leeds which should be added to the list.
If you're in Glasgow, then Artisan Roast is excellent.
