I used a hacksaw for the rear because thats what I had, a bolt cutter would probably work better.
Yeah I preferred risers too but the ones I had wouldnt fit my brake lever on and I'm too poor to buy any more right now so these will have to do.
I actually taped up the brake surface but the wheel builder took it all off when he built the wheels and I never bothered putting it back on. The rack is going to be silver so I figured I would leave the brake surface and see if it looked okay when I put that on, if not I'll get the tape back on it.
I'm also not completely sold on the gumwalls yet, everyone seems to love them but I'm just not sure they look right.
