  • Is there a 1 stop shop you can visit in London to get all of the gear in one place along with some sound advice ?

Coffee Hit in Brockley, drop them a line and go see them

  • ^ Thanks

  • Nice sunset.
    Beautiful plumage.

  • very quick though.

  • What a gusher

  • Really enjoying Monmouth's Raja Batak. It's like drinking Ribena!

  • Isn't Ribena cheaper and easier to make?

  • Had to buy coffee in se supermarket recently, prepared to pick up a small bag of some organic / fairtrade stuff they have there.
Then saw and bought this (new in stock sale type of offer) -

Unfortunately it's 100% arabica, but I like it a lot.

  • Top tip if you really like After Eights - drink a bottled Starbucks Dark Chocolate Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino.
Zero discernible coffee taste, and I'd never dream of ordering/buying such a ridiculous drink, but my jaw's wired shut, I like After Eights and the wife brought one home from th'office. Tastes like After Eights, isn't it.

  • ^ Why is your jaw wired shut?!

  • Anyone know if the current red brick is any good? was my favourite coffee last year but haven't really tried it in 2013 due to my hasbean espresso subscription.

  • ^ Why is your jaw wired shut?!

The usual reason, it's broken. Hit by a 4x4 whilst cycling a few weeks back. Made a post in Forum Rider Down about it all.

  • HatBeard, I'm enjoying the Red Brick currently, but I didn't have much experience of it last year for comparison, so possibly not a useful opinion... #csb

  • Though I have to say, I've been drinking a lot more Sweetshop than Red Brick ...

  • I'm all about the blank box coffee.
Some can be a bit iffy but generally I'm pleased to try different coffee every month.

And they are sending me an Impress Brewer (won in a comp) which I am looking forward to using at work

Oh man, I want the Linea one... Anyone want to combine shipping?!

  • So q for hasbean espresso subscribers... unwrap now, or save until 25th hoping it's a roast needing lots of rest for degassing?

  • ^ Are they sending out Xmas freebies?!

Ouch. You make it sound like it's a regular occurrence for you to break your jaw - hopefully that's the last time it happens and you heal up soon!

  • ^ Are they sending out Xmas freebies?!

nah, subscription was paid for back in Jan. Steve from hb's advice is to open them now as beans should be at their best this week.

  • am looking forward to trying it tomorrow. the wrapping paper was a really nice touch.

not renewing for next year though. prefer to find a decent coffee i can perfect and stick with it.

  • ^ What are you going to try next?

Also, text/pm me your work address so I can drop off the t-shirt tomorrow :)

agreed, it's been fun but just as getting to know each coffee its all gone so starting over again on the next one.

  • ^ and ^^ but how do you do that? For most of the good single origin stuff the roasters get a smallish batch and then once that season is done they move on to the next one yeah? Or is it different over there? Or do you roast your own?
