  • ^Thanks dude! I think so too :)

I've been a bit busy the past few weeks but here's an update on the progress so far.

I masked the frame and painted part of it flame red.

  • Finishing touches before clear-coat is applied

  • Some stuff I picked up from the bay

  • This is gonna look sweet!

  • Yeah I hope so!

    More stuff:
Sugino Mighty BB from the bay - Cinelli Stem from: Corbleu

    Criteriums from: MattyH

  • Preferred it when it was raw.

  • Very Nice keep it up! I work right now on a old french Gindet Mixte for my girlfriend!

  • Thanks!
    Updates...

Rear wheel and pedals from: Narcotitlan

Given to me by a family friend:
Campag Khamsin front wheel, Saccon caliper brakes.

    eBay:
Campag friction shifters, Campag Xenon chainset, Campag Veloce front and Athena rear derailleur

  • Clear-coated ready to be built up. Just need to visit LBS for bolts and nuts I'm missing.

  • great paint job! How exactly did you do the gold bits?

  • Nice paint job.

  • Thanks guys! I used masking tape to form the various lines on the bike including the gold bits and then spray painted it. I'm filming the whole build process so you can see it as soon as I finish editing

  • Finished?

  • ^This

  • Yup

  • So so nice!

But please put some drop levers on! The bike is begging for it!

  • I'm considering it but probably on different bars as these ones have track geometry

  • They look like classic style drop bars to me

  • Yeah it's not very clear in these pictures. Also the saddle is actually brown, the leather is probably reflecting light differently

  • They look like classic style drop bars to me

This, case in point is the Cinelli Criterium.

if you intend to ride on the top all the time (unless you have a way to slow down in the drop), then I would suggest something similar like the Cinelli Priest would finish it off.

  • I'm gonna have some Cinelli Campione Del Mondo bars (40cm, 26.4 clamp, matching 1A stem 110mm if required) for sale in the next few days, once I've received my new Nittos.

  • @ed: I will probably be spending most of my time on the top but I like to have the option to get on the drops especially on windy days. I've also gotten the hang of quickly switching to the top whilst maintaining control. That type of handlebar isn't one I've considered before, but it might be a good idea to try it out.

@Phil: I have the same stem installed already but I may be interested in the bars, pm sent.
