    Page Excerpt:

A 60-year-old woman has been arrested after a cyclist died in a suspected hit and run collision in East Sussex.,Sussex Police said a car and a bicycle collided on the A21 Robertsbridge bypass shortly before 16:30 GMT.,The woman is being held on ...

    RIP rider.

  • My deepest condolences to this poor cyclist's devastated family and friends. May they receive justice.

.."collided".. I am so heartily sick of that word, along with "accident". Dangerous driving = manslaughter in a fair society.

  • thoughts and prayers for the rider, family and friends.

  • Sigh, I rode professionally here in Europe and America up until the early 90s, things seem worse now. I think its a case of far more cars, more popularity with cycling now and less skills on both sides. I do say the countryside (and the A21 is not a lane, for sure!) is as dangerous, if not more, than London. Road conditions are worse here than Spain was in the early 80s (and thats saying a lot). Big condolences for this fellow. Lessons? Wear brightest clothes always, assume stupidity from every motoris, assume they can't see you, just assume its a combat zone out there; unless ya gotta ciclocross bike and land to ride on, just assume bad things could happen...sadly.

  • Seven years jail for drink driver who killed the rider. The article indicates this was her car, which she continued to drive as she left the scene as she thought she hit a badger.
