Framing a cycle jersey?

Posted on
  • Has anyone done this? Apologies if this has been discussed before, a few quick searches didn't bring anything up.

Have been lucky enough to get hold of one of Mark Cavendish's world champ jerseys, so seems sensible to get it in a nice big frame (well, not that big, the jersey is bloody tiny).

Any tips on who to call/where to go?

  • I don't know if you need anything special for a jersey - there's a framing shop in temple fortune that'll do pretty much anything - and I'm sure a quick google will show you a place near you if that isn't any use.

  • In London, Peter Watkins (super nice guy) or pendragon, both expensive but the best

  • Thanks. Yeah, wasn't sure if it needs to be a specific place. I have a good framers I've been to a few times for regular stuff, but just wondered if anyone had first hand experience?!

Google didn't throw up much annoyingly. Might just get in touch with my local framers.

Nice one, thanks. Don't mind it being a bit pricey, you do get what you pay for!

  • Obviously it's a nice piece to have, so you want it to look good, but I don't get what the added value of going to a specialist is - might be worth getting a quote from the regular framers first.

  • I'm not sure if Jersey framing specialists exists.

But framers tend to be specialists.... In framing.

  • There's a great place in Teddington called but is it art ? who do really good work + they have a 3 panel gorrillaz stained glass piece which if I can afford I'd buy tomorrow (3k per pane of art ) but it's interesting to look around too

  • Yep, wasn't expecting to find a specialist in framing jerseys; bit of a niche market. Just after someone who'll definitely do a good job.

I'll get in touch with those suggested and go from there. Thanks chaps!

  • googleing 'football shirt framing' gives lots of options

  • Doesn't Photoben on here work for a framer sometimes? Could be worth an ask..

  • My office got given one of Wiggo's yellow jerseys last year - we had it framed at a place called Frame, Set and Match on Endell St. Cost about £300 but it only took a day and it's proper good quality.

  • Ask Lance?
