  • so that I can batter Hefty for spilling tea on my shoe :-p

    Soz

  • .

  • Soz

Only messing. It was the warmest my feet got all day!

  • Does anyone know if the steady chap with the white beard made it?

Not Bernie, the other one. Peter?

    "Oy, you cheeky monkey."

I now know someone who will not be getting a new Dolan on Christmas morning.

  • When's the next one, Ludd?

    Time for another list Jurek?

  • .

  • Always up for getting a train to London in order to ride home in the freezing cold winter.

    Name your date Ludd.

  • In once again, will try not to crash this time.

  • I'm in for sure. Hefty, we could always skip the train and cycle to London...

  • OK, I'll look at the Ludd family almanack to see what the planetary alignments have to offer...

  • Time for another list Jurek?

Has Jurek made the jump to Microcosm yet?

  • Microcosm?
I could be up for this.

  • Righty ho. It looks as though the first and last weekends in November are consistent with Luddite commitments. As soon as I have access to a grown up Babbage engine I will start a new "conversation".

  • Lol. Babbage. Y u so old?

  • Since you ask, the whole "Ludd"shenanigans started when I was taking my first steps in webcam-based astrophotography, and was struggling to get my head around the complexities of modifying the electronics and connecting to an extra serial cable in order to be able to take longer exposures, and then struggling with image processing - gamma, drizzling, dither, onion rings, unsharp mask, sigma clipping etc.

  • Almost time?

  • .

  • what date?

  • Oh blimey, I'd better start thinking about this. I'd been due on an overnight ride to Sarfend on Friday/Saturday but bailed out because of work keeping me in Brizzle last week, and I'm actually completely knackered and probably about to get man-flu.

But something must be done. I've got a shiny (geared) bike that's still waiting for its first proper trip out since I built it up, and Cambridge would be a good first outing for it, particularly if its paintwork can be coaxed into catching a beam of the golden misty sunlight of Epping Forest when we pause at High Beach for tea and horse-whispering.

Will look at dates tonight and see if I can suggest something. Probably a Saturday, probably welcoming geared riders (because I fancy a chance to use a geared bike, that's all) and probably wanting to avoid hanging around in a pub for 3 hours when we're only half way there.

  • Hmm, this Saturday (15 November) is clear in the diary, and accuweather seems reasonably optimistic about lack of rain. If there's any hint of a chance of this going ahead, I'd start a new thread.

  • If anyone is up for another Cambridge ride, this is a candidate for post perfect stop on the way http://www.biciclettavelo.com
