Said it was for no good reason, which is why I tried to go for the stronger CX rim. Most chincarbon seems to be built up radial front and my road wheels have given no problems. I realise that a crossing pattern would be better for track stresses, but these are for road use on my Dolan, basically I want the practicality of clinchers and save the tri-spoke tubs for racing.
