Nice find. I've sent a pic to Marco Gios and will see what he says as well.

The cleaning and corrosion treatments are finished, so I applied the new decals late last night. Later this morning I'm off to the LBS to stand around commenting and drinking coffee, whilst pretending I'm helping, as they strip my Colnago Master Olympic and hang the groupset onto the Torino.

Congrats, that looks bloody amazing! Both yourself and Gios C must be far too big to annoy judging by frame sizes.
As you're going to the LBS, take the head badge along as they should be able to rivet it on before the headset is fitted.
Big Block, if you're reading this, any chance of a couple of Brooklyn stickers or the file if I ask very nicely?

Thanks Colin!
Ditto on the bottle stickers!

Your help is needed gentlemen re the thread on the Super Record fork. We can't get any headset onto it. We've tried English thread, Italian thread and standard ISO as well. Nothing will go more than a quarter turn. It's a brand new fork from Gios in Italy, and the LBS hasn't messed it up in any way. The thread looks perfect, but the headsets simply won't screw on.
Other than sending it back, is there something I'm missing?

Could it be that possibly the rise/gradient or/and the angle of the fork cutting are out of line? Micrometers at the Start grow large in a blink. It's hard to tell from the distance...

a progress report on mine, a 1984 Professional
assembled by Peter, a LBS owner who grew up racing bikes of this vintage.
The gear levers were from his parts box, and checked using his original hard copy catalogue from the 1980s.
The period correct NOS cables and outers were from the collection stored at his mums house where his dad had moved the stock from the bike shop.
Peters dad used to build high quality bike frames at the shop.
Up to me to do the last few bits.
[edit]
tyres on, seat and post mounted, quick ride around the suburb in the last light of the day.
Clips and straps to go on, as well as my attempt to sew on the kangaroo leather bar covers. -

Do you know what's the difference between the Gios Carbon V105 and the Carbon V107 modells?
I have one of them, but not sure about witch is it :-) -

Finished finally! Fork thread issues solved.
She's been built up with parts from my stripped Colnago Master Olympic, and is an age-old ambition...to own what Roger De Vlaeminck rode! The handling is super sure, very comfortable and it looks stunning in the flesh. I went with Athena 11 as one of the few modern groupsets that compliments classic / vintage frames, and I haven't ridden downtube shifters since I was 13!!!

Just as expected, RT, it looks great and will be more practical with the modern kit which looks as though it should be there. Damn the purists (including me), bikes are for riding, not wall-hanging! Was the fork issue solved with just a re-cut thread?
A public 'thank you' to Big Block for the Brooklyn artwork, top guy! Also looking forward to the finished build, although the kangaroo leather may offend Tijmen, judging by the avatar......
Considering the geography, the forum Gios ride might have to wait a while, perhaps Italy next year?

i have a question... i've got 2 gios super record blue frame. i've setup 1 but i'm a bit torn on what should i do with the other. the paint condition is less desirable than the other one so i am thinking of striping and painting it white since i'm already riding a blue one. anyone can tell me what is the correct decal colour for white super record? blue decal on white or white decal on white? i've been told that its blue on white.

White in a Super Record is very rare, if they ever existed as normal retail bikes.
The colours were introduced in the Professionals from 1984Although I recall reading that there were a few exceptions.
Here is a repaint white with white decals -

These bikes are delicious. I'm hunting a blue Torino to go with my chrome one, and selling off my carbon and alu rides, and various components. If any of you hear of a 63cm or 64cm, or one with a 58.5cm - 59cm top tube...let me know please!?
A unique headbadge, but I wont mount it. Any idea where its from?
