I always carry a Fahg mini for the rear wheel. Either a mini evo+cable or a heavy chain for the front. With the Fahg snugly holding the rear part of the frame in place, it's very rare to find a stand which is the right length to allow the mini evo to get near it.
To be honest, I would have sold on the mini evo but I hurt my back and had to lighten what I carried in the backpack for a bit.
