  • How about an Avid Rollamajig ziptied under the stem so that the cable runs straight down the headtube?

Wouldn't actually barspin but if you turned the bars that far it would probably pull the outer away from the rollamajig, along the inner, like a crosstop lever.

  • Yeah, I hate to say it, but don't go Nokon, I replace my cables at least once a month.

  • Fucking Jagwire, eh

  • I had this problem all the time until I routed my cable though the headtube - easy to do too.

  • Which Jagwire do you use? Mountain Pro Brake?

  • I'm on Jagwire Compressionless and don't have a problem.

  • Bugger Nokon is off trend now? Goodridge served me well for a long time. Recommended.

  • How is the wheel /spoke cover attached?

  • go to the bolt in stock Newington and buy some bmx liner cable are the best and strong you can find .. kink one are so good

  • How is the wheel /spoke cover attached?

    magnets

  • or cable ties ;)

  • Zip tied against spokes, about 8 of them should do the job.

Velcro works well for quick release

  • Is there a 26" equivalent to the Dolan Pre Cursa or Pompino? Something cheap and polo-suitable rather than polo-specific if that makes sense...

    a 26" FGFS frame?

  • Maybe a small on-one inbred. A few people using them to play on.
You might also be able to find a cheap Redline Monocog 26er or singlespeed jump frame...

I have an Inbred I could measure up for you, but it's an early geared Inbred, and it's not small...

Happy to do some calcs for the impact of a forkswap if you can get me a geo chart.

  • Figured it jump/FGFS might be the way to go. Was just curiosity really after the sudden influx of Dolans, not looking to swap from 700 just yet.

  • ^If you come to the come to the christmas bench we can swap bikes for a game if you wanna try 26.

  • you can pick up some cheap 24" singlespeed jump frames on ebay that'll snugly fit a 26" wheel with a durano on and have a nice short wheelbase.

  • Arunas of YoMoYo fame runs this setup. Pretty sure there are many others but Charge does a 24" jump bike (Charge Iron?) and blackmkt does one too.

    Yeah, that'd be good!

i ran a scrambler frame with a 26" long haul trucker fork with 26x1.5 tires for a while. geo worked out pretty good. you could probably find a better fork.

  • Looks nice if you like big wheels, apart from the valves not lining up with the tyres and the brake cable/hose being a bit long.
