Oh god. I thought this was a mistake when I saw this thread and related to either the Commercial St incident or the Mile End fatality. Terrible to see that's not the case.
That junction is next to my office, I ride through it every day. It's the same spot at the July fatality involving the Boris Bike rider. Without wanting to bring any speculation as to what happened into this thread, it's a hideous spot; so many drivers turn left without indicating/paying any attention.
RIP; thoughts are with friends and family.
