Decent Butchers?

I've been trying to make burgers lately but supermarket mince sucks

I want decent chuck steak minced, to make some actually tasty burgers

theres got to be some in manchester than arent just halal chicken joints

But Didsbury has a posh looking one or there is one down Levy high street next to Albert road that is quite traditional looking.

+1 for the butchers in Didsbury.

The guy in there was happy to offer advice etc, so i'm sure if you're after anything in particular they can help.

For a cheaper butcher, try the one in Withington. Last time I was in there, got some nice steaks/chicken for a really good price.

There is also a fishmonger, on the corner in Didsbury which is great. Really quality stuff. The prawns I had from there were bloody huge.

Also if you're looking for burgers out. Mudcrab cafe in Didsbury do some great burgers for not too much. Would recommend the peanut butter and fried egg, don't knock it 'til you've tried it.

Would definitely like an update as to how expensive/tasty your dead cow meat turns out...

Frostys in Chorlton meant to be good. Will be asking them to hunt & kill a Turkey for us to live off whilst all the shops close for a day next month.

Yep, Frost's in chorlton is best. But for a proper good burger you'll struggle as you need a mixture of different cuts, possibly with some bone marrow in there. Just go Solita instead

If that's the "farm" one, they do the south manchester markets so they should be in withington, west dids, chorlton and t'other place once a month each. Can't remember what the correct sequence for those 4 though, and I think in months containing 5 Sundays they skip a week.
