  • Right now it's clamped out of recommended.

  • on a 20mm setback my saddle is too far forward, on zero setback it wouldn't even fit. Is there a middle ground? Sounds like no.

You said seat post, not set back which is why I was confused.

There's plenty of them online, like the Easton EC70 that have a 10mm setback.

  • Is that the case with both the 20mm and inline posts?

  • It sound like he have those old (or old-style) saddle that have a very short rail which limited the amount of set-back/forward he can go.

  • oh, sorry, Ed, fixed, and thanks Ed.
Situation in a picture for clarity, I'm fine riding like this for now
as I'm light, but planning to get a carbon post soon so just asked.

  • Looks great Tim, but have you got enough steerer!?

  • That doesn't look bad, unless you need it a little more forward.

Is it 27.2? this is the cheapest I can find, keep looking around for cheaper alternative.

  • 31.6, I'm after carbon, thanks. Now I have some guidelines.

  • Looks great Tim, but have you got enough steerer!?

I hope so! Measured it up and spoke to nasty and he said it should he fine! Photo is deceiving though!

  • Fizik Microtex is perforated

    As is Deda Traforato

  • My last build on a 3.0 cannondale frame from the early 90's. Very comfy ride and fairly light :-)

    Nice crankset!

  • It's happening, just bought a 57cm Pass Hunter, Longstaff sale thread will be up shortly...

Currently reading about cantilever brakes, don't really know a great deal currently, differences between wide and narrow set-ups, brake cable routing etc

the mid-trail (56) geometry of this frames it´s good for front load v/s a real 650b low trail?

  • Yeah, i got this one at planet x, there is a white band underneath the black one.

    Fizik Microtex

    Deda Traforato

    Thank you!

  • Just need a new wheel set now. I ordered a silver Surly hub from Hubjub, and they sent me a black one, but maybe i should just keep it, get a matching black front one, silver or black spokes though? i think silver.

Only problem is, my pedal fell off. i'm really hoping i was just a complete dumb ass and forgot to tighten it, I rode it down the road for a pic, and thought shit are the cranks bent, went to skid and my pedal fell of, put it back on, double checked both were tight and seems okay now, i think.

  • silver hubs - silver spokes - silver nipples - black rims

  • Yeah that's what i was originally thinking, just spray the rims matt black.

  • black hubs - silver spokes - silver nipples - gunmetal rims work well as well.

  • I guess either will look fine.

More worried about my pedal staying on! foot jamming with a pedal still on my foot was quite odd.

  • They look even better with gumwalls

  • black hubs and spokes with gunmetal rims does look good but when some components are black too, tbh i'd return the hub to hubjub and get the silver version, they should refund you the cost and if you ask may give you a fiver of the front hub...

    for comparison:

  • Incoming

  • I was going to get a road from hub, as they don't have the front matching hub anyway.

  • Incoming

    sweet!!! wait, what is it?

  • cannondale?

  • CAAD 9 frame, will be a slow build though
