i have a sora 3400 chainset (triple) which you could make single speed easily, can supply it with a brand new 105 bb too and the chainring spacer bolts you would need to run one ring. Its in perfect working condition with a few cosmetic stractches...
40quid for the lot...

ok it may not suit you but I have a 700c wheel set where the rear is a 2 speed sturmey archer (S2C duomatic) hub with coaster brake . is gathering dust at the moment suits a 120mm dropout .
is this any good for you?

Not quite what I'm looking for unfortunately, thanks anyway.
Hey,
I've recently acquired a new second-hand bike (Raleigh Elan) to replace my old one that got stolen. It works fine but between the fact that the drivetrain is looking a bit rusty, and my enjoyment of SS previously, I've decided I might as well get started pulling parts together for the conversion.
All the usual suspects really:
700c wheels, flip-flop rear hub. most likely a full wheelset (although my current wheels are in good nick so could consider offers of just a rear one)
chainset - probably looking at between 42-48t, haven't chosen rear cog size yet so I can be flexible in this respect right?
maybe a bottom bracket too, might as well replace that while I'm at it
Not sure if I'm missing anything else obvious too (probably happy enough to buy a fixed sprocket, freewheel, chain etc new and the saddle, bars, pedals etc I'm happy to keep for now) but give me a shout if anyone has anything going. I guess my price range is more workhorse/beater than top shelf, for example probably looking to pay no more than £70ish for wheels.
