I am trying a metal bracelet on my seiko 5. Does it matter that the ends of the bracelet are straight rather than matching the curve of the case? I worry that it might be a horological faux-pas.

Bloody hell that Nixon isn't bad. For a Nixon.
Also anyone got any recommendations for a cheap dress watch?
How cheap?
ebay always has tons of vintage manual watches. This for eg http://bit.ly/1et7lBe
Otherwise there Are some fairly discreet hamltons that would work well.

Bit of advice if possible chaps, my friend mould like a new timepiece, budget up to £200, he's a young business professional, so it would need to be worn with a suit every day.
He's looking for something round faced, automatic on a nice brown leather strap, he's a slim guy so anything over 42mm will probably look silly.Any thoughts?

battery in my timex military has gone. Suggestions for places to take it for repair?
Batteries from watchbattery.co.uk and maplin for a case opener.

I'm sure it's probably a completely heinous thing to ask on this thread but I'm going to do it anyway.
Moved back up home recently and when sorting through stuff I found a fake Seamaster Professional my uncle bought me back from the UAE a good few years ago. I stopped wearing it ages ago when the bezel insert fell out but upon looking at again it'll make a good beater watch. Although a fake, it's quite good looking & seems to be powered by a reasonable automatic movement. Was thinking about modding it and having a bit of a play around with it as it seems far too good to chuck away.
Does anyone have any tips for what I should do with it? The bracelet is missing a pin so I was thnking of putting it on a Nato/Zulu strap but I'm unsure about what to do with the bezel/bezel insert. Will a bezel from a cheaper watch fit on to it?
Poor pictures to illustrate....

completely heinous thing
The bezel would either glue back into place, or carefully cut out double-sided sticky tape would keep it there. Ignore the bezel pip, and Nato it. Job jobbed.

It was the just the missing lume part from the bezel that I thought would make it look a bit shit. I'm probably being ridiculous as it's going to be a beater anyway. Points taken, will do just that! Thanks.

You can get lume pips, but they would probably be the wrong size/require the bezel to be drilled/end up as a gluey messy.

Orient Bambino might fit the bill.
(that was supposed to be a reply to Jet)
Who wants a Seiko? ;o)
