Quill stem angle

  • Gentlemen and Ladies,

what angle quill stem do I need that will have it parallel with the ground/TT?

    thanks in advance

  • there's only one angle with traditional quill stem.

Not much you can do with a frame that have a very slack/steep head tube, other than those zero degree stem or track stem.

  • Cinelli road stems are/were 73 degrees.

  • you can change the angle to your hearts' content with an ergo stem.

but i must say i cant think of a practical reason to have it parallel to the tt, the important adjustment is in your bars

  • If the 73 degrees of the Cinelli stem is representative of quill stems and 73 degrees is a representative head angle of your typical horizontal top tube frame then geometry tells you that the two will be parallel.

If I could embed a drawing here then I could show you.
