To also let people know, the only resolution offered is £100. No return and refund, no replacement wheel (the same but not totally ruined). Unless I'm wrong, I think the solutions offered by me in refund or replacement were reasonable. These have been refused.

I am aware he has sold and contributed before but unfortunately this is seemingly a different situation.
I'm actually taking the piss - He's contributed fuck all to this forum, other than using it as a cheap ebay alternative, where he can mug people off with badly described goods.

This is a self-regulating forum... If 'Nerging' is the main recourse available to warn other users about a seller ripping someone off then it should be used.

I should stress, I am massively eager for this to be resolved amicably. I cannot endorse any negative comments made about him and have to say, I've made offers and they've been refused outright.

Clearly the wheel is damaged - though it's not obvious whether the rim is completely fucked or just needs rebuilding. It could also be that it was damaged in transit?

Unless postie cyclocrossed his way from Manc to London on the bike I very much doubt the damage to the wheel was done in transit (or the wear on the chain)...

Legal proceedings are potentially being issued against me so I'd prefer to keep my powder dry till then.

IMHO it's a pretty tidy pup for £1,075 regardless of various points of view.

I was invited to issue legal proceedings when I stated what I believed the position to be (a threat wasn't made by me).

I have rejected an offer of £100 and anyone on this forum can see that is not unreasonable.

I'm not saying I've been sold an entirely broken bicycle but, regardless of price, it is simply not as described.

I have no urge to be involved in legal action and really would like this to be straightforward.

My Somec was a bargain - but I was still pissed off when the seller didn't reveal that the BB needed to be fucking milled out.

It is absolutely nothing to do with the financial element of it. I realise it was a good deal.

If you buy something and it is described and clarified to be one thing, you don't expect to receive something very different. Slightly yes, entirely no.

What I do for a living has nothing to do with anything. If you remember, I didn't threaten legal action. I would never use what I do for a living as an advantage or threat as it's entirely counterproductive.

As for the "weapons" comment, I won't bother answering it. It doesn't require it.
