With Horizontals I was fine while my foot was straight on the pedal, when I fell my foot turned diagonally on the pedal and the strap just tightened up and would not let loose.
With the Diagonals they actually use that feature to make them tight when your foot is straight.
I guess the whole idea of doing rad tricks while you are tied/strapped/fixed to the pedals is really what I wonder about, it seems to be a recipe for bone breakage (or at least soft tissue damage) :)
