  • Unfortunately, nobody will be able to tell you what is best for you. Just make sure you get a decent variable voltage battery so you can vary how hard you drive whatever you decide to put on the end of it. Good ones are Joyetech Ego Twist and Vision Spinner, although others have had success with cheaper Ebay jobs. The bits that go on the end (cartos, clearomisers, etc) are pretty cheap (usually £5 to £10), so keep trying different ones. The Kanger T3S clearomiser is a good place to start. The Tabac BCC looks like a copy of the Kanger T3S.

Alongside finding your favourite hardware, you need to find your favourite juice. The Smoking have Foggy Dew - I tried the Honey Tobacco, which was nice. EEI reviewed a few of the other Foggy Dew juices a couple of pages back, so perhaps see if any of those sound like your thing. And they sell them in 10ml bottles so you only waste a few quid if you don't like it.

Hopefully this will help you through the jargon a bit:

**Clearomiser **- a transparent (usually) tank that has a string like wick inside dipping into the juice. In the middle of the unit, the string passes through a coil which does the vapourising. The good ones have replaceable coils as they do get clogged up after a week or two. They can be dry burned to get rid of the clogging - look on YouTube to see what I mean.

**Cartomiser **- a metal tube with cotton wool like material inside and a coil set into the cotton wool. The end bits that you find on supermarket ecigs are cartomisers (rubbish ones IMO). You can't dry burn or replace the coil in a cartomiser - you just throw it away and screw another one on. Look on YouTube for instructions on how to fill these.

Cartomiser Tank - A fairly large diameter transparent (usually) plastic tube which the cartomiser sits in. The carto will need to have a hole punched into it for the juice to get in. This makes no difference whatsoever to the performance of the carto - it just provides a ready supply of juice so you don't have to fill it up anywhere near as often.

Rebuildable Atomiser / RBA - You need to build your own wick from stainless steel mesh and wrap your own coil around it. The wick dips into a large tank of juice. I wouldn't worry about these until you have tried everything else, as getting the wick / coil right is tricky and greatly changes the way it performs.

Single / dual coil - You can get both clearomisers and cartomisers in single and dual coil. Theoretically, dual coil will produce more vapour and will be slightly warmer. In practice, this isn't really a reliable way to look at it as the quality of the design plays a bigger part.

    Some good brands:
    Joyetech
    Kanger
    Vision
    Innokin
    Boge
    Smok / Smoktech

Finally, UKEcigStore (http://www.ukecigstore.com/) have a store in Wembley which you can go into and have a better look at all this stuff. Might be worth a visit once you feel like you know roughly what hardware you are after. I would avoid their liquid though.

    Dully repped
