I think the problem starts when the views held become something which could actually negatively impact you and come from a person with enough weight/reach to disseminate them. Like there's a driver out there reading Liddle (who, by the way, is a cunt with bells on) and feeling like actually maybe he doesn't need to give me that much room on the road.
