  • I'd have thought we could manage an average of 10mph (including short stops for refreshments) which would get us there at about 3pm. If we can up the pace to 12mph it should be more like 2pm.

I fear that parental duties will force me to take a train back to london, and to remain reasonably sober.

  • Wanna ride the Brooklyn for this, I know I can do 60 miles with risers and 38c but not sure I fancy 120+

Unless it rains, then I'll bring the seta and Lycra and will be up for 120+

  • ^Seta!

  • The seta just feels too serious, if I ride the Brooklyn it means I can have a play around when we get there and I won't be walking about it road shoes and Lycra and for a 10-12mph average ride it's more than capable.

  • Geared bike?

  • Me?

  • Hopefully in. I'm riding geared at the moment but am planning to turn the spare bits in my shed into some sort of working frankenbeater this weekend.

  • Me?

    Yes sorry!

  • Tentatively back in but not adding to list, will know on the day.

Only problem is that I have literally zero miles on wheels in the past 4 weeks! Oops.

  • Will there be a yacf presence on the day?

  • Haven't done a forum ride in ages, looking forward to this ride very much! Hopefully I will see some old and older faces in this ride...

  • Yes sorry!

Ah, the only geared bike in the house is my Mum's old hybrid, not sure it would make 60 miles!

I'm not an old face but I look forward to seeing you.

  • Will there be a yacf presence on the day?

There are two yacfers on the list already. I suspect there will be more on the day, but nothing definite yet.

  • I'm bringing the Seta but only because the alternative is not any more 'casual'. That's if I don't end up being tempted by a job on that day for a solid and quick £100. Tutoring rich kids is good money.

  • Oh my days, so many peoples! And I only know about a quarter of you all!

As a Cantabrigian who doesn't get out much this will be my first forum ride so I don't know anyone.

I'll be on a questionable purple Bianchi conversion.

    Be nice to me.

  • Is this ride slave bike friendly? Very tempted now* but am I fuck riding the POS I did this on last time and I've got nee other bikes. Will be another person train'ing down from Cams pre 9am and hopefully I can find the start.

*Weather permitting because I'm a fanny

  • Will be another person train'ing down from Cams pre 9am and hopefully I can find the start.

I'm going for a 7.30 train from Cambridge to Kings Cross, looks like it's only about 3 miles down City Road to Brick Lane. Garmin will be my guide.

  • Hey,
I'm from Cbg as well and interested with this ride.
So, Hefty and Sep aration, we could meet up at the station.
I know the way from Kgx to the bagel shop in brick lane.
My bike is a vintage geared.
