Not Dave Davey is it? Having read that page, you now know as much as I do!
Sounds like a decent bike, but not a hidden gem and a bit too old to be of general interest; the rear derailleur looks to be a modern replacement: my *guess *is that £150 is the sort of money that should be changing hands.
If it is indeed a Dave Davey, then you may now be able to get a more informed opinion than mine: Retrobike?
Spot on. Only saw it in the flesh yesterday and I was clearly given the wrong name. I'd actually also found that exact same classic lightweights info yesterday. Much easier once I'd got the correct name so you did well to find the right info based on the crappy info I have you. ;-)
Its actually in pretty poor condition. Not unsurprising for its age but I'd be concerned about seized posts/BBs etc and yes the components are a right mix match of old and modern but even the modern stuff is in poor condition. There's a fair amount of surface rust all over it and a big ding in the top tube. It would be quite a money pit of a project I think to come away with something nice. May suit someone as their pub bike/beater though. Nice horizontal drop outs.
I'll just stick it on eBay with a very clear and honest description of the condition and let the market decide. :-) Thanks again.
