For a lump of kit like that, which should last a lifetime and could accompany you to a couple of hundred metres under water (should you really fancy it) - yes, IMO.
No different to paying for quality bike with a rolhoff or whatever analogy you want to use.
I've often thought Murtz's straps a bit agricultural in the aesthetic (taking nothing away from the impressive craftsmanship) but the Panerai is one instance where it suits. I would prefer a less contrasty stitching colour though.
I don't see me having the strap that the Artelier comes with on there for long before contacting Murtz for an alternative!
