  • I posted in this thread, because while I was writing in reply to the ad it was closed.

    From what WjPrince and Ed have written Bec is not a bad trader, in which case I would like to apologise.

    However, there were good grounds for suspecting it was a bad trade and there still are:

    • the frame advertised here and the frame advertised on Gumtree are one and the same: apart from the identical spec and condition, as I pointed out, the NDS BB cup and lockring are aligned *exactly *the same in relation to each other and in relation to the frame;
    • the Gumtree ad was only *listed *25 days ago, which made it look very much like it was being "flipped" within a month for a 100% mark-up;
    • instead of responding to these concerns, the ad was abruptly closed which suggests she could not argue her case;
    • the Gumtree ad has been deleted within the last hour, which further complicates the situation: clearly whoever posted that ad is on here and is trying to conceal something.

    To me, it seems that here are three possible scenarios:
    1) Bec bought the frame "in addition to something else from an eBay seller and paid £300 for it", then offered it here for a mark-up of at least 33%;
    2) Bec bought the frame from the Gumtree ad and offered it here for a mark-up of 100%;
    3) Bec tried to sell the frame on Gumtree for £200, then offered it here for £400.

    Whichever one of these is the case, I don't think the upset her ad caused is unwarranted: the price (in light of the above) was too high and we did say so.
