• Hi all, now surpus to requirements are my wheelset from my spare bike, which has now reluctantly been parted out. Was going to keep these as they really are a lovely understated looking wheelset with loads of life left in them however I have no use for them at the moment and maybe someone else does.

They are 1995 Campagnolo Athena 8sp hubs (same as Chorus just without the grease port iirc) laced with 32 DT DB spokes to Mavic Open Pro clinchers.

The hubs roll super smooth and the rims run true, Excellent freehub, Good spoke tension and little sign of wear to the rim sidewall.

Included in the sale is the 8 speed Campagnolo cassette.

    Looking for £110 posted.

  • luvly.. i have the same hubs laced to mexico 86 rims, though mine came witha 13-26 casette..

out of curiosity.. how did you get the hubs so shiny?

the rear hub actually super smooth if taken care of.. marvellously well built :)

  • Nice wheels. Are the rims silver or a slight yellow colour? I can't quite make out from the pictures.

  • Meticulously hand polished... A real labour of love! Definately worth it though as they look stunning in real life.

  • The rims are silver, It could be a trick of the eye as the rim tape is yellow or maybe the reflection from the gravel....

  • Quality polishing job! I coud never get a hub like that without taking it out of the wheel first.

  • What did you use on it, something easy to get a hold of ?

  • Loosely wrap a short length of something like a pipe cleaner or some linen around the hub, go for a ride and on your return, sit and marvel at your reflection in your self-polishing hubs.

    You're welcome.

  • No longer available - sold to meta.

Thanks to all who showed an interest.

  • Good scouting but no, advertised on both forums but sold them on here. Just advised the good folks over there that they were no longer available.

  • Sold aside, you do know that anything offered here has to be exclusive to the forum and not advertised anywhere else right?

  • oops! I did not know this, but I do now. Thanks for the heads up, Won't happen again. Sorry.

  • btw, freehub body swap.. would 2006 mirage rear should serve as an appropriate FH body donor?

the body looks similar, the axle is not oversized.. :)
