I am realy interested in this frame how can you prove it is a genuine Mercian?

I' say going by the seat stay finishing it was more likely a Holdsworth.

If it was a Mercian it would almost certainly have a full or semi wrapover seatstay and filed pretty smoothly too. Nice as this frame is, it could probably be anything from 1950-1970's/

I owned a 50's Mercian path racer without wrapover stays...

Serial number will be on the BB shell and steerer, send a quick email to Mercian with the number and they'll be able to confirm if it's a Mercian or not...

Whatever it is, it's a lovely looking frame... Would be good to see some wheels in it to check clearances...
