Tested out my shiny new PTJ this morning on a 'fast paced training ride', as instructed by Rapha's marketing bods.
Was wearing it for over 4 hours in today's relatively mild but breezey weather with just a short sleeve base layer underneath and it was almost too warm. The windproofing on the front is super effective though, so I just had it half zipped the whole time and it worked really well at stopping me overheating.
It's an absolutely superb bit of kit, the attention to detail is amazing, things like sleeves that actually are long enough for the long limbed types like myself when in the drops, good roomy pockets for extra layers and paraphanalia, a chunky zip on the front to make it easy to use etc etc.
I reckon with a really good base layer underneath and a rain jacket over the top it should be good for most of winter. Not sure it will stand up to test when it starts to get to freezing point though.
