So they're showing the 1998 remake of Psycho tonight... which for various reasons, I'm sort of forced to watch...

Help me out here guys. The original being one of my favourite movies of all time, please explain to me what exactly demanded this remake; where did Hitchcock, crew and cast fuck up?
