It is, I believe.

This sucks.
If only because I will now be the only one pissing money, lightening a bike based on a porky hybrid material frame. :(
Not that my build is anywhere near as carefully done as this one. If I was 20cm taller.........

you already know this - but you will get much better money if you split.

I guess the key question is, what would be a reasonable price for this bike?
EDIT- Dan, yes, true.

Seeing as you love the frame, and you have gone to all the trouble of drilling/setting it up for di2, why not just sell the group and wheels, keep the frame and finishing kit for when you are better off.
-
• #1882
you won't get a massive amount of money for the frame either way. Especially after drilling it.

If he provided a link to this topic, I'm sure he might.

That's a good point, although it is only a single small hole in the BB shell, but I guess it might put people off.
-
• #1885
It's a question of: how much money do you need to realise and is the £400 you will get for the F+F worth it right now when you might want to rebuild this in 6 months time.

I'll have a better idea of the whole situation after I speak to the solicitor this arvo.
I'm mainly concerned with being able to guarantee the mortgage payments without going into my savings.
I guess the easiest thing to do would be to sell the wheels, I imagine that they'd go for around £800, if not here then on WW.
That's a months mortgage+bills.

That'd be my suggestion, sell the frame last, componentry are replaceable whether that SystemSix isn't easy to obtain.

sell your volvo

Or Serotta.

Really wish you'd bought that track powertap, i'd be buying that off you right now

Unless someone on here buys it. Not as much as it should be.
Its a stiff frame, with top groupset, and top wheels. Which makes it very dersirable. But all the small pimp components will suffer a massive loss, value wise.
I'd be tempted to strip it of all but the DI2, and Zipps. Maybe even downgrade the 3T parts/finishing kit if thats convienient. No point in marketing a bike based on carbon bars, and saddle. How many buyers really want the same combo you like? Do you have standard DA brakes to put on? Standard brake cabling...etc etc. If I understand correctly you're selling the PM separatly. Again, smart move.
TLDR?
Sell it complete as is. But replace the flashy finishing kit, WW parts, and PM. To make it more accessible. -

That'd be a good suggestion, but it have been modified I think.

Much as I share Dammits taste for such a bike. It is just a bike. When things sort themselves out. Something else will tickle the fancy. Theres plenty of nice bikes out there.

• #1894
A fair point, a CAAD10 can easily replaced that SystemSix.
-
• #1895
I think the Di2 and zipps work well on the frame. Its just a bit too pimped.
Whats the expression estate agents use for houses which are improved beyond the max value for an area? ceiling price?
Have this discussion a lot with Mrs Smallfurry. Especially now we've had to take out a massive loan to buy a car. She mentions selling the BMC, and I say most of the money on that bike is way beyond recouping.

SystemSix has niche value due to curious fabrication method. C10 is probably objectively better but not nearly as rad.

404 Firecrest tubs
These new wheels came boxed, with all manuals, receipts etc and of course the skewers.
I'm going to keep everything as is, so if/when I sell these it's all ready and together.
Actual dibs.
Noted
Just saying.

Do you want object to beat you up more hills? Didn't think so.
Sell them to me instead
The geometry look identical to the modern Cannondale.
