  • I did look out for forummers at Ally Pally on Tuesday but spied none.

I was there with son #2, it was his 15th birthday treat and a fitting end to his summer holidays. It was superb, but I tend to agree with some of the critics that it was a bit weird the way it turned out to be the filming of an upcoming DVD rather than a concert put on for the benefit of people who had shelled out quite a lot of cash. I will be revisiting the Biophilia album when I get a chance, as I'd previously found it a bit lacking in focus. It may make rather more sense/nonsense now that I've seen the live show.

Edit: actually, I may have seen Hobo standing at the side of the t-shirt stand in the west hall, possibly maybe waiting while someone went off to the bogs.

  • ^^ what? you actually touched Bjork? OMG
    never wash your hand...

  • It's already been washed i'm afraid.

We picked a spot in the standing bit where we thought we'd get a good view and it turns out it was about 30cm away from the route on and off the stage.

On her way back to the stage for the final track, a guy stuck his hand out and she high fived him so on the way off the stage after the last track, i stuck mine out. High five achieved.

    Ace.

  • Unfortunately, this was the best picture I could get:

She must have gone to and from the stage about 6 times...

  • nice story soul

I must be getting "mushy and emotional" in my middle age, I fear. The moment Bjork appeared on stage I had a feeling that I might suddenly start crying, in a happy way. But I didn't, for which I think son #2 is probably very grateful. It might have something to do with memories of "Birthday" being number 1 in John Peel's Festive 50 all those years ago, and finally seeing her live decades later.

  • Fuck Buttons tonight, I am excite.

  • Fuck Buttons tonight, I am excite.

    I. Am. So. Jealous.

Best band I saw at Glastonbury but missed out on tickets this time.

  • Saw Fuck Buttons headline ArcTanGent festival a few weeks back, fucking iiiiiincredibleeee

  • Fuck Buttons tonight, I am excite.

    YOU WERE THERE?!?!

Haxan Cloak was fucking amazing. I actually ended up wussing out on most of Fuck Buttons set as I was knackered after first day at new job and bed was calling. Sorry I missed you, hope you had the funz!

  • I missed you?? Nooooo! I hope your first day went well.

FB were phenomenal, I kind of got lost in noise and lights. Can't really hear anything now.

Hehe. I saw Bjork walking down Berwick Street as if she is an actual human person who exists in the real world a few years back. I almost did the old comedy movie double take/eye-rub/throw away bottle maneuver. Shamefully have never seen her live. Imagine I'd react similalry to Ludd if I did. I had something in my eye nearly all through the Joanna Newsom RFH gig in the Ys tour. Managed to surpess obvious physical symptoms from a similar rush of mushy emotion at finally seeing Neko Case being amazing up close at Primavera in Barcalona this summer. Always the fierce ladies with me.

Got tickets to see Bill Callahan at the Southbank yesterday. And Neko at the Forum in December as it happens. W00t.

  • A couple friends of mine who have a band I nearly joined, shared a gig with Joanna Newsom.

  • Anyone have spare ticket for parquet courts tonight?

  • Got two tickets to see The Reflektors on November 11th.

    AWWWWWWW YISSSS

  • I thought tickets didn't go on sale until Friday? How did you manage this?
Also, Parquet Courts were great on Monday night! Enthusiastic crowd too...

  • I thought tickets didn't go on sale until Friday? How did you manage this?

People who pre-ordered the album on the Arcade Fire website got pre-sale access at 9am this morning.

  • Ah makes sense! I guess I'll try my luck with the rest of the world Friday morning

  • Reflektors gig was awesome. The atmosphere was fantastic...

  • I managed to sneak tickets through before ticketmaster melted down under the load. Pretty excited for tonight! Did you dress up like they asked? Did anyone?

  • Yup; i went in formal attire.
Almost everyone made a real effort and those that didn't stuck out for being boring.

If you get there early enough, they give out masks in various colours / shapes and there were people walking around doing free face painting.

  • Ah good! glad I packed the dinner suit then. This is going to be good!

  • If anyone has or hears of a spare ticket for the Reflektors gig tonight please let me know, I'm so gutted I missed out on a ticket!

  • I have gigs

  • Reflektors show was A+. The whole staging and theme worked really well, everyone seemed less uptight and really got into it. Did you end up getting tickets Cazakstan?

  • I did see someone offering £ 500 for two tickets out front of the Roundhouse which is pretty mental
