I've my eye on a used Planet X Stealth Pro to replace my ageing Pre Cursa which is my current daily commuter/ workhorse. Anyone used the Planet X(or any other carbon frameset for this matter) for daily commuting duties? My main concern is the inevitable bumps, scratches and knocks that framesets pick up from being locked to poles/ bars etc. Is the finish on the frame tough enough or will it pick up lots of marks and gouges?
I'm not fussed on an aesthetic level but wouldn't want the carbon to deteriorate in terms of strength. I've thought that a wrap of some material over the toptube or seattube could be a good idea or something similar to give a bit of extra protection when locking. I'm cool with any additional stiffness/ aggressive geometry that the Planet X has to offer over the Pre Cursa, it's just the more delicate frame material that's my only qualm.
Perhaps this is a totally silly idea, but any feedback is very much appreciated.
