  • Just a few ideas for ale pubs

NQ: Marble Arch, Fringe, PSBH, The Castle/Gullivers
    Didsbury: ??
Chorlton/Whalley Range: Pi, Font (surprising selection), Marble (not as good as Marble Arch), Hillary Step, The Bar, Oddest, Dulcimer, Horse & Jockey... so many good pubs...
Oxford Road: Sandbar, Thirsty Scholar, Peveril of the Peak
    "Deansgate": Kask, Knott, Britons Protection

  • Snots, I can definitely do this coffee machine thing. I'll get in in the morning so can drop the machine off at the coffee place no probs. I'll PM knornight to pick it up.

I have no route or Guinness suggestions, I'm going to stay well out of that discussion. Happy to meet anytime, anywhere, I guess.

  • your with betty during the day right hats?

does anyone have a preference for start time, is 8 too late/early?

  • Yes, spending the day with the lovely Betty. Cannot wait - I miss her face! Might drop by some of the science festival stuff too... maybe...

  • Thank you hats! I'll save up to buy you a beer.
I'd also avoid starting at port street if you're gonna be on the Guinness, there are too many other better ales to turn down.

  • ales, guinness its all fine. beeeeeer.

  • I need to be drunk or hungry enough to forget Guinness ain't veggie before I drink it

  • Its not like any of the fish bits are left in it, you'd get more meat from beathing in air near a burger than from a pint of guiness.

We need some more cold weather magic polo balls if its possible for anyone to bring some from landan.

  • You're fish bits.

  • Thank you hats! I'll save up to buy you a beer.

You'll find I'm quite remarkably cheap.

I have no idea where to get these from. #nopolonotalk

  • i dont know enough pubs to comment on the guinness situation so if at least a few of them serve guinness then i guess thats fine too

shall we aim for 8pm, one in town (maybe NQ?) ride out towards didsbury for a few, something on the way , then back in town?

port street -> didsbury -> chorlton/fallowfield -> oxford road area (the pub?) or salford?

There should be a way you can request edit rights on that map, I don't now many good ale pubs in Didsbury or Cheadle that are bike friendly, and the only pub I've been to in Salford is the Black Lion. That's practically Deansgate and I wanted to avoid putting two stops less than a mile apart.

Hillary Step instead of Jam St?

  • There salford pub I couldn't remember the name of is: The New Oxford - http://thenewoxford.com/

  • Just sent you edit rights as I haz your email.

  • cool well im going to be in the nortern quarter till 8ish, so as long as your not leaving northern quarter till 8 or 9or so then i'll be reyt!

I put the word out in the polo forum. Hats, I apologise in advance for any inappropriate offers of balls from the poloistas of London's Famous London.

  • I'm happy to use snotty's coffee machine as a weapon if there are any inappropriate offers!

If the manchester lot tell me what they want, you can collect from me.

The shop is based in Hackney wick or i live in E5 and you can collect from there.

    Thanks!

The shop is also part of a motorcycle cafe which is super cool and does good food and coffee, if that helps.

  • The crescent in Salford looks like a bomb site but has plenty of good beer, bad locking though I think.

  • Or is the kings arms on the list?

Sweet, I can come over after work on Thursday. What do you want, northeners?

  • Balls! I'll get a consensus tomorrow at polo and get someone to order them on the magic site.

  • I'm happy to order, need a couple of heads. Nothing too bulky, will get you some beers in for the trouble hats!

  • I want head too but can't afford it.

  • Could probably work something out... I am more reasonable than most pay day lenders.

Andy are you familiar with the laws of England and Wales as they apply to soliciting?
