Regarding the whole kickstarter thing...I've been thinking about it over the last few weeks...but I'm unsure of the logistics given the cost of my bags, and how long they take to make.

Haven't most BRP products effectively been kickstarted on here? I don't see how doing on the kickstarter site changes anything (other than having a larger number of orders).

I think your 'product range' works well for kick starter. Lends itself to various pledge points.

I guess it depends on whether an injection of cash, based on the promise of products later, would be of help. If it means buying equipment and space to improve the efficiency of your production. Cool. But if your production is already at its limit based on it being a one-man, handmade, affair. I cant see the benefit. On a personal note. Owing work to a thousand pledgers, might cause more stress, than the cash injection relieves.

I wouldn't personally be pledging in order to get something out of it besides improve the chances of the business being a success.
We could always go for a 0.1% ownership status based on pledges if necessary.
I'd love to know how the bloke at ILE does it. He's a one man band too. I have one of his bags as they were readily available, as much as I'd rather have one of Scot's.

Annoyingly mine is stuck in France (got left in a car in Belgium after working on one of the Belgian classics), but is due to be sent back soon.

Absolutely amazing. If you ask really nicely Black Rainbow can make a matching belt with military grade buckle (about 25 quid IIRC) as a mini fahg lock is quite a weight for a normal belt to carry.

Anyone got one of these belts they want to sell?

Cheers Timbo, I'm more after a new one. Rode with my dad at the weekend, who was admiring mine. He had a very uncomfortable-looking rucksack, and probably shouldn't be using one of those at his age.

As usual I'm beginning with an apology...to those STILL waiting for their saddlebags.
I'll have them finished by the end of the weekend.
