Best coffee I've had was in Melbourne, imo they beat London for quality. there are big names like Proud Mary that won't fail to provide something great (like the Brazil late harvest COE I had earlier in the year), but there are also some smaller places that are putting out fantastic coffee without the massive cues. Overall the price is pretty low, and a big difference with London is most of the specialty coffee stores/roasteries also serve decent food too.
Now I'm living in Amsterdam, my favourites would be:
Espressofabriek (Westergasfabriek/Ijburg)
Coffeebru (Oosterpark)
Headfirst (Vondelpark)
twoforjoy (Harlemmerbuurt)
Next spot I'll try is Scandinavian Embassy, which I've heard good things about, and supposedly has an Aussie inspired emphasis on food too.
